At about 8 pm on March 22, the Riverine Police Team (Traffic Police Department of Quang Ninh Provincial Police) in coordination with the Patrol and Rescue Team of the Center for Supervision, Safety and Rescue (World Heritage Management Board of Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu) patrolled and discovered a fishing boat with registration number QN-2351-TS anchored in the Hon Con Cho area, Ha Long Bay.
At this time, there were 9 people on board participating in squid fishing.
At the time of inspection, it was determined that the vehicle driver was Mr. L.S. T (born in 1990, residing in Phong Coc ward, Quang Ninh province).
The working group requested Mr. T to present relevant documents.
Through inspection, the vehicle is 12.5m long, with a capacity of 30CV. However, the fishing license and the technical safety certificate of the fishing vessel have expired.

Working with functional agencies, Mr. T said that he was asked by an acquaintance to look after the boat in the Cai Xa Cong wharf area (Ha Tu ward).
During the process of supervision, he invited friends to Ha Long Bay to catch squid.
At about 7 pm on the same day, the ship moved to the Hon Con Cho area, then anchored, turned on the lights to fish for squid when it was inspected by functional forces.
Currently, functional agencies are continuing to verify and clarify to handle according to the provisions of law.
According to the Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, this is the 3rd case in March 2026 to be detected and handled related to illegal squid fishing passenger transportation activities in Ha Long Bay.
