On December 11, a representative of the leader of Dong Son commune (Quang Ngai) said that the provincial authorities had conducted a crime scene investigation, autopsy and verified the identity of a male body drifting ashore on Ganh Ca beach, Dong Son commune, in a state of severe decomposition.
According to initial information, at around 5:30 a.m. the same day, while fishing in the Ganh Ca area, Chau Thuan Bien village, Dong Son commune, Mr. Truong Van Cam (32 years old), residing in the locality, suddenly discovered the male body and immediately reported it to the local authorities.
Upon receiving the report, Dong Son Commune Police quickly arrived, coordinated with the commune's functional forces to contain the area, protect the scene, and make a record of the incident; and at the same time reported to the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Provincial Police.
The Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ngai Province Police sent officers to examine the scene, conduct an autopsy and deploy professional measures to verify the identity and investigate the cause of death. However, the body was in the process of severe decomposition, so the identification work encountered many difficulties.
