Developing clean coffee and valuable agricultural products
In recent years, Ia Krel commune has been "changing skin and flesh" day by day thanks to the synchronous implementation of the National Target Program for building new rural areas associated with the emulation movement for production labor, economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.

From a mountainous commune with many difficulties, Ia Krel today has clearly shown its spacious appearance, the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving. Determining that building new rural areas is a key and continuous task, the Ia Krel commune government focuses on promoting the potential and strengths of agricultural production.

Currently, the whole commune maintains an agricultural production area of over 13,000 hectares, in which many concentrated production areas are formed, especially durian growing areas serving exports to the Chinese market. This is considered a strategic direction, creating motivation to promote rural economic growth and improve people's income.
Along with developing agricultural production, Ia Krel commune focuses on exploiting the advantages of local characteristic products, promoting the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) program. To date, there are 16 OCOP products in the commune, of which 15 products meet 3 star standards and 1 product meets 4 stars.

Many products are favored by the market such as fermented chicken, dried whole cashews, dried beef, coffee, salted roasted cashews... OCOP products not only contribute to improving the value of agricultural products but also open up job opportunities and increase income for rural workers.
The atmosphere of labor and production emulation spreads strongly in villages and hamlets in the commune. People actively transform crop and livestock structures, apply scientific and technical advances to production; many households boldly invest in expanding scale, linking production according to the value chain. Union organizations also promote the role of accompanying and supporting members in economic development, contributing to creating a new momentum for rural and mountainous areas.

Along with economic development, Ia Krel commune pays special attention to investing in infrastructure and improving rural landscapes. In recent years, the locality has built a model of solar-powered lighting systems on inter-village and inter-commune roads.
When night falls, electric lights spread throughout villages and hamlets, not only ensuring traffic safety and security and order but also contributing to making the rural appearance more spacious and beautiful. This model is implemented in a methodical, economical, and effective manner, not showing off formality, suitable to local real conditions and contributing to completing the criteria for building new rural areas.

In the process of implementing the program, Ia Krel commune always focuses on combining economic development with ensuring national defense and security, maintaining political stability and social order and safety. This is an important foundation for the locality to develop sustainably, creating a favorable environment to attract investment and improve the quality of life of the people.

Donating cows, building houses to create livelihoods and new vitality for rural and mountainous areas
Notably, in parallel with building new rural areas, Ia Krel commune drastically implements sustainable poverty reduction solutions, especially for ethnic minorities. The locality focuses on solving essential problems such as lack of residential land, housing, production land and domestic water; and at the same time supports people to develop production according to the value chain, diversify livelihoods, and replicate effective poverty reduction models.

In the period 2021-2025, Ia Krel commune has built and repaired a total of 189 new houses for poor and near-poor households. In which, 143 new houses were built and 46 houses were repaired, with a total investment of more than 9.9 billion VND. Solid houses not only help people "settle down" but also add motivation to rise up to stabilize their lives and gradually escape poverty.

Loan support for poor and near-poor households is also of particular concern to the commune. In 2025 alone, the whole commune had 353 poor and near-poor households accessing preferential loans with a total amount of more than 20.5 billion VND. In which, 119 poor households and 234 near-poor households used capital to invest in production and animal husbandry development, gradually increasing income and improving life.

Mr. Diep Bao Trung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Krel commune, Gia Lai province - said: "Besides, Ia Krel commune also closely coordinates with Branch Company 75 (Brigade 15, Ministry of National Defense) to implement the socio-economic development project according to the "Soldiers associated with villagers" model in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Through the project, Company 75 has supported 35 breeding cows for 6 poor households and 29 near-poor households in the commune. This is practical support, contributing to creating long-term livelihoods, helping people gradually stabilize and develop the household economy.

From flexible and practical approaches, the new rural construction program in Ia Krel commune has truly gone into depth, creating widespread spread in the community. The atmosphere of labor production emulation, solidarity, and mutual support is increasingly being ignited, becoming an important driving force to promote socio-economic development in the locality.
With the right direction and the consensus of the entire political system and the People, Ia Krel commune is gradually affirming its determination to build a new rural area in a sustainable direction, improving the quality of life for people, especially ethnic minorities, contributing to the overall development of Gia Lai province.
