On June 4, at a meeting on the socio-economic situation in May 2025, Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - criticized many department leaders. The reason is that the leaders did not carry out the task of inspecting slow-progressing projects as required.
Previously, on February 13, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee signed a decision to establish 7 interdisciplinary delegations.
The head of the delegation is the leader of the departments. The task of the team is to review 155/203 projects that still have difficulties, thereby finding solutions for businesses.
Despite being assigned to the mission, many heads of the delegation do not directly survey. For example, interdisciplinary delegation No. 1 led by Mr. Nguyen Tran Nhat Huy, Deputy Director of Department of Planning and Investment (old), now the Department of Finance is the head of the delegation. The delegation was assigned to check 45 projects and have finished checking. However, the leader of the delegation did not check the actual projects.
The No. 2 interdisciplinary delegation is led by Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (formerly the Department of Agriculture and Environment). The team was assigned to inspect 21 projects and has inspected 18 projects in practice. However, the head of the delegation did not preside over the inspection of any project.
Interdisciplinary Team No. 4 was assigned by Mr. Vu Dinh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the old province, to inspect 36 projects. However, the team did not conduct a field inspection of 21/36 projects. In which, the head of the delegation did not inspect any assigned projects.
Interdisciplinary Team No. 5 was assigned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to inspect 36 projects. The head of the delegation only inspected 9 projects, the rest were assigned to the departments for inspection.
Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that the leaders of some departments and branches authorized subordinates to perform tasks, even without checking, but only waiting for reports from enterprises to synthesize, has led to a situation where the inspection results are of poor quality, many comments are still general and inaccurate.
Many projects have not been fully assessed for the reasons for the delay, both objectively and subjectively. The role and responsibility of the investor in the delay in project implementation have not been clarified.
Mr. Thai emphasized that there is still a situation of avoiding and shirking responsibility in consulting and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee to handle projects behind schedule. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and branches to carefully assess and analyze the project implementation situation, clarifying the financial capacity and determination of investors.
