On July 13, the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Hue City People's Committee has approved the investment project to build a bridge across Con Hen and approach roads at both ends of the bridge, assigning the unit to be the investor.
The project is divided into 2 phases. In which, phase 1 focuses on building access roads at both ends of the bridge, while implementing compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance.
According to the approved decision, phase 1 includes two sections with a total length of about 2.1km.
Section 1 is about 450m long, from the Truong Gia Mo - Le Duc Anh intersection extending to the Nguyen Sinh Cung - Ung Binh intersection (Vi Da ward).
Section 2 is about 1,650m long, from the Chi Lang - Nguyen Binh Khiem intersection to the Nguyen Gia Thieu - Ho Quy Ly intersection (Phu Xuan ward). The road has a cross-section of 26m, design speed of 60km/h.
The intersections are designed to meet the same level, traffic is organized by painted lines and signs; intersections with planned roads are built according to the waiting connection plan. The project also invests in completing technical infrastructure including sidewalks, green trees, lighting, drainage system, technical boxes and traffic safety assurance items.
The total investment of the project is about 2,200 billion VND, of which phase 1 is nearly 1,000 billion VND. The capital source for implementation from the central budget supports 1,100 billion VND, the rest is allocated by the Hue City budget. The project implementation period is 4 years.
According to Hue City People's Committee, compensation, support, and resettlement work will be implemented throughout the project scope with a length of about 2.76km. The land clearance area related to the bridge item in phase 2 will be determined after the architectural and design plans are approved by competent authorities.
It is expected that the project will need about 9.73ha of land to arrange resettlement for affected households.
The bridge project across Con Hen is expected to complete the transportation network according to the plan, increase connectivity between Con Hen area and the center of Hue City, contributing to reducing pressure on inner-city roads and expanding urban development space.
Currently, the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board is completing procedures to soon deploy the project.
