On May 4, according to a source from Lao Dong Newspaper, Son La Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to establish the Steering Committee for the 2026 high school graduation exam.
According to the decision, the Steering Committee is an inter-sectoral coordinating organization, with the task of advising, directing, and comprehensively managing the organization of the exam according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Steering Committee is headed by Mr. Ha Trung Chien - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The Deputy Heads include leaders of the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Police.
The Steering Committee includes representatives of many departments, branches, armed forces, press agencies, Provincial Youth Union, electricity sector and leaders of People's Committees of communes and wards in the area.
The secretariat team is composed of specialists from the Department of Education Quality Management under the Department of Education and Training.
The Steering Committee is responsible for implementing tasks according to the High School Graduation Exam Regulations and current guiding documents; coordinating inter-sectorally in stages from preparation, organization of exam supervision, grading to ensuring security, health, information and communication and logistics.
The Department of Education and Training is assigned to be the standing agency of the Steering Committee. Members work part-time, and funding is implemented according to legal regulations.
The Steering Committee started operating from the date of establishment and dissolved itself after completing the task of organizing the 2026 high school graduation exam.
