Strengthen dialogue, practical care
The Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Labor Federation has just issued a plan to organize Workers' Month 2026 with the theme "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation, improving labor productivity".
The plan is built on the basis of the orientation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and is also associated with the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, strongly focusing on grassroots levels and workers.
The highlight of this year's Workers' Month is the program "May Dialogue" and the forum "Union members contribute ideas to build Vietnam Trade Unions in the new era". Trade union levels will advise heads of Party committees, governments and businesses to directly meet and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.
In parallel with dialogue activities, the program "Thank you workers" is being implemented with many specific care activities such as visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances, people with work accidents, occupational diseases; organizing "Trade Union Meals", welfare booths, periodic health check-ups and psychological counseling.
Cultural and sports activities such as worker family festivals, football, volleyball, badminton, running races... are also organized to create healthy playgrounds and strengthen the connection between workers and businesses.
According to Mr. Soi Ngoc Cuong - Chairman of the Son La Provincial Labor Federation, the unit requires each grassroots trade union to have at least one activity to directly care for union members. The activities must be practical, effective, take workers as the center and strongly focus on the grassroots level.
Doctor Vu A Senh - testing department at Cuoc Song General Hospital - said that trade union activities bring many practical supports.
The grassroots trade union always maintains holiday and Tet bonuses, organizes Trade Union Meals and supports gifts for union members in difficult circumstances. This helps us feel secure in working and sticking with the business for a long time" - Dr. Senh shared.
Promoting initiatives, improving skills and jobs
Workers' Month 2026 also focuses on organizing the "Labor Skills - Sustainable Employment" Day, promoting consulting and training in vocational skills and digital skills, helping workers adapt to the market in the context of digital transformation and international integration. Trade unions coordinate with businesses, vocational education institutions, and employment service centers to connect labor supply and demand, provide recruitment information, salaries and policies, thereby supporting workers to access stable jobs and increase income.
Mr. Ca Van Dong (born 1990), a machine operator at Son La BHL Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company, expressed: "Workers really need to learn new skills, especially digital skills. If we are better trained and connected to jobs, we will have the opportunity to increase income and stabilize our lives.
With a series of diverse activities, Workers' Month 2026 in Son La is expected to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere among workers, civil servants, and laborers; spread the spirit of innovation, contributing to building an increasingly modern worker team, meeting development requirements in the new period.
