On May 23, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a document assigning the organization and service of the funeral of comrade Tran Duc Luong - former Politburo member, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Accordingly, to ensure security and order and necessary conditions to serve the National Funeral Ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed the City Police to preside over and coordinate with the Capital Command to proactively contact functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense and relevant agencies and units to develop and deploy plans to ensure security, order and traffic safety during the Funeral days in Hanoi.
The Department of Culture and Sports shall preside over and proactively contact functional units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, city departments, branches, and related units to implement the suspension of entertainment activities during the funeral days of comrade Tran Duc Luong - former Politburo member, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Department of Construction coordinates with the City Police to deploy traffic flow and routes to ensure security and order; coordinate with Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, and Ba Dinh districts not to organize vehicle parking lots on sidewalks, roads in the Funeral Home area, private houses, and on the tourist route.
The Department of Home Affairs actively contacted the functional departments of the President's Office and relevant agencies to advise the organization of the ceremony and memorial service; coordinate with the Organizing Committee of the City Party Committee to urgently advise the city to organize the Hanoi Delegation to visit, attend the memorial service and burial.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Hai Ba Trung District People's Committee to proactively coordinate with relevant units to carry out detailed tasks and plans from the Funeral Organizing Committee; proactively deploy tasks at the grassroots level, ensuring all activities related to the Funeral at 5 Tran Thanh Tong take place solemnly, safely, orderly and in accordance with the provisions of law.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District was requested not to organize a walking street on May 25.
