During the afternoon rush hour every day, National Highway 13 becomes one of the traffic hotspots in Ho Chi Minh City. Amidst the crowded traffic, it is not difficult to see many parents carrying their children going in the wrong direction, even not wearing helmets.
In less than 5 minutes, there were more than 20 vehicles continuously going in the wrong direction right in front of the alley to Binh Trieu Primary School. Most of the vehicles are motorbikes. Many people even carried two or three children, many of whom were not wearing helmets.

According to local residents, going in the wrong direction is to shorten the distance and avoid traffic jams in the turning area on the National Highway.
There are people running in the wrong direction every day, especially after school. Vehicles going in the wrong direction, running close to the side or in the middle of the road, are prone to collisions. Even vehicles carrying 2 to 3 children without helmets, seeing that scene is a concern for the children" - Ms. Le Thi Kieu Diem (Hiep Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared.
According to observations, the large road is located next to the market and schools, so every school day or rush hour, many people choose to "shorten" by running in the wrong direction to save time.
"I also often pick up my children from school in this area. Many times when my child gets off the bus and encounters some careless vehicles going in the wrong direction, it is extremely dangerous" - Mr. Ho Van Toan (Hiep Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said.

"There are no sidewalks on this route, so pedestrians like me have to walk on the edge of the road. Every time I see a car going in the wrong direction, I feel heartbroken. I hope the authorities will soon handle this situation completely, to ensure the safety of everyone" - Ms. Tran Kim Ha Giang (Hiep Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said.
According to the people, this area has had many collisions, mainly due to people going in the opposite direction not being able to observe and encroaching on the lane.
In fact, going in the wrong direction in this area is not new, but it still occurs frequently due to subjective habits and frequent lack of control. The image of children sitting in a car without a helmet, jostling in the middle of a crowded line of vehicles makes many people worried.
People hope that local authorities and functional forces will soon take synchronous measures, both to propagate and strengthen handling to end the above situation. Raising awareness from the people and strict management will help this crowded road become safer and more orderly, especially during rush hours.
