According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Suoi Cai dredging and reinforcement project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river has a clearance length of about 19 km. The area of land expected to be recovered is 132.8 hectares, affecting 964 cases, of which 34 cases need to be resettled.
The project passes through 4 wards in Ho Chi Minh City including: Binh Duong, Vinh Tan, Tan Hiep and Tan Khanh wards.
Currently, localities are coordinating with units to complete compensation and site clearance. According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the units have completed the announcement of land recovery and measurement and appraisal of the drawings.

Notably, localities have approved compensation, support and resettlement plans for 963 cases with an amount of VND 3,253 billion, reaching 99.90%. Spending VND 3,109 billion in compensation to 889 cases, reaching 95.6% of the total approved amount. Of which, 858 cases have handed over the site.
Currently, 144 billion VND has not been paid to 74 cases. The project site is still stuck mainly in Tan Hiep ward with 14 households and Tan Khanh ward with 89 households. The two localities are urgently mobilizing households to receive compensation and hand over the site.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City will also have a working session with the People's Committees of Tan Hiep Ward and Tan Khanh Ward to resolve difficulties and obstacles in compensation and site clearance for the above project. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested to complete site clearance in 2025.

The Suoi Cai reinforced dredging project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river is invested by the Binh Duong Agricultural and Rural Development Project Management Board. The project has a total investment of VND 5,892 billion, construction packages account for about VND 2,238 billion, the rest is site clearance compensation. Construction has been carried out since the beginning of 2024, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
