On August 14, leaders of Da Huoai 3 commune (Lam Dong) and local authorities conducted a survey and inspection of the hill at high risk of landslides in village 1.

Through inspection, it was found that the hill was about 80 meters high and more than 2 hectares wide.
Prolonged heavy rain caused the hill to tear into a deep ditch running along the top of the hill to the residential area.
Many landslides also appeared on the hill. Land from the top of the hill overflows down.
The hill has subsidence with many cracks in the bird's feet, the depth ranges from 0.5 to 1 meter and extends in many different locations.

With the above situation, the hill is at risk of landslides at any time when there is heavy rain.
Below the hill, there are 10 households with 34 people living in fear and insecurity.
Mr. Dinh Huu Tinh - a household living at the foot of the hill - worriedly said: "Last year's rainy season, the hill had a slight landslide. However, last night (8.13), a heavy rain caused the hill to tear up. All night, households were afraid of landslides so they didn't dare sleep."
Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Dinh Thanh Duong shared: "My family has 5 members, the house was just built. We know it is dangerous but all the assets are here. Now I just hope to be safe and have to be on guard, move when there is heavy rain to ensure safety".

Mr. Nguyen Van Trinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Huoai 3 commune said that the inspection showed that the risk of the hill collapsing during heavy rain was very high.
Local authorities have mobilized households to evacuate to ensure safety. However, it is no longer raining, so households ask to stay and sign a commitment to voluntarily relocate when heavy rain occurs.
The locality determined that the lives of the people were always given top priority. In the long term, local authorities will work with households to find a way to relocate out of the dangerous area.
According to Mr. Trinh, the People's Committee of the commune has arranged standing forces to promptly warn and support people in all situations, especially when there is heavy rain.
