On September 23, Mr. Pham Thanh Liem - Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Sa Special Zone - said that these days, together with officials, soldiers and people living on the islands, functional agencies of Truong Sa Special Zone are actively preparing Mid-Autumn Festival activities for teenagers and children.
Up to now, the Truong Sa Special Zone People's Committee has developed a plan, coordinated with agencies and units to prepare 780 gifts including Mid-Autumn cakes, candies, and drinking milk; and at the same time prepared lanterns to give to children on the islands and children of officers and professional soldiers of coastal agencies.
The gifts are checked, arranged and carefully packaged, ensuring they are delivered to the right recipients, fully and promptly.
On the islands, officers and soldiers coordinate with teachers, parents and people to prepare Mid-Autumn Festival fun spaces suitable to actual conditions.
Activities such as cleaning, decorating school grounds, cultural houses, preparing art performances, collective games and breaking Mid-Autumn Festival feasts are implemented thoughtfully. Many officers and soldiers take advantage of extracurricular time with the children to decorate the feast, prepare art performances, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Thi, a parent on Sinh Ton island, said that the concern of the government, officials, and soldiers for the children during the Mid-Autumn Festival is even more meaningful for families on remote islands.
The lanterns, Mid-Autumn cakes and gifts given directly to the children are not only material gifts but also affection and encouragement for families to feel secure living and working on the island" - Ms. Le Thi Kim Thi shared.
Along with the preparation of the government and units, families on the island also proactively prepare for their children to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival. Colorful lanterns, new clothes and children's laughter create a bustling atmosphere in the open sea.
On Da Tay Island, children eagerly await gifts, lanterns and fun activities organized by officers and soldiers in coordination with schools and families.
Le Thi Anh Duong, a child on Da Tay island, shared: "I am very happy to have the soldiers and aunts and uncles prepare for the Mid-Autumn Festival. I look forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival to receive lanterns, cakes and have fun and perform with friends.
Caring for the Mid-Autumn Festival for children contributes to strengthening military-civilian solidarity, building a healthy cultural environment on the islands; and at the same time encouraging families to feel secure in living, working, studying and nurturing love for their homeland and sea and islands for younger generations.
