On January 29, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense - came to inspect the progress of scientific and technological research tasks in 2025 undertaken by the Institute of Weapons (General Department of National Defense Industry).
At the working session, leaders of the Institute of Weapons reported to the Deputy Minister of National Defense on the implementation of research, development, improvement, and modernization projects of weapons and technical equipment in the past time and orientations and tasks for 2026.
Thereby, clarifying the achieved results, progress of each item, as well as difficulties and obstacles in the process of organization and implementation, especially in terms of mechanisms, resources, research equipment and technology synchronization requirements.
Leaders of the Institute of Weapons affirmed that in 2025, the Institute of Weapons has thoroughly grasped and seriously and effectively implemented Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation;
Resolution No. 3488-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in the Army. Science and technology programs and projects chaired by the Institute of Weapons always ensure progress, and quality is constantly being improved.
Concluding the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam acknowledged and praised the proactive, creative, and highly responsible spirit of officials, engineers, and scientists of the Institute of Weapons for their efforts to overcome difficulties, gradually master technology, and meet task requirements in new conditions.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested the Institute of Weapons to continue to closely follow the Resolutions and strategies of the Party, State and Central Military Commission on science and technology, development of the defense industry; Focus on accelerating the progress of projects according to plan, ensuring quality, efficiency, and absolute safety.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam noted that the Institute continues to master modern and intelligent weapons and quickly put researched products into acceptance; Actively innovate, create, and diversify weapon types, especially promoting research on weapons to replace traditional weapons; thereby accelerating and promoting the construction of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Army.
