Ho Chi Minh City - People's Committee of Go Vap District proposed the plan to consolidate 12 existing wards into 6 administrative units at the new ward level.

Currently, Go Vap district has a natural area of ​​more than 19.73 km², with a population of more than 670,000 people, divided into 12 wards.

According to the new proposal, the district will merge the wards in the method of "2 combined 1", from which to form 6 new wards. This arrangement will reduce half of the number of administrative units at the ward level, from 12 to 6 wards.

Hanh Thong Ward is proposed to be formed from the merger of the status quo of ward 1 and ward 3, with a natural area of ​​3.37 km² and a population of 127,125 people.

An Nhon Ward was established from the merger of ward 5 and 6, with an area of ​​3.23 km² and a population of 96,717 people.

Go Vap Ward was established from the merger of ward 10 and ward 17, with an area of ​​2.81 km² and a population of 99,629 people.

Thong Tay Hoi ward was formed from ward 8 and ward 11, with an area of ​​3.24 km² and a population of 118,826 people.

An Hoi Tay Ward is the unity between Ward 12 and Ward 14, with an area of ​​3.81 km² and a population of 115,989 people.

An Hoi Dong ward will merge ward 15 and ward 16, with an area of ​​3.29 km² and a population of 112,067 people.

Earlier, at the end of 2024, Go Vap district has arranged 8 wards into 4 wards under Resolution 1278 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. Specifically: merger ward 1, 4 and 7 into ward 1; Ward 8 and 9 into Ward 8; Ward 14 and part of Ward 13 into Ward 14; The rest of Ward 13 was imported into Ward 15.

It is expected that this afternoon (April 15), the 39th Conference of the Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will be held to discuss the scheme of arranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a model of two -level local government organizations.
