Colonel Do Xuan Hung, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Military Region, was present at the scene early to directly command and coordinate the force.
As soon as he arrived at the landslide site, Colonel Do Xuan Hung listened to a quick report from the participating units. He surveyed the field, clearly understanding the deep landslides, mud and areas that are difficult for vehicles to access. The terrain assessment helps to adjust the forces performing the task appropriately, ensuring the safety of the forces and speeding up the search process.
Hundreds of officers and soldiers of Military Region 5 were mobilized. Local police and militia forces are closely coordinating to expand the search area. The forces have been cautiously arrived at the scene to serve the search and rescue mission. With the ability to blow strongly, "crying scenes" are deployed at suspected buried locations under deep rocks and mud.
In parallel with the ground force, Military Region 5 uses drones to survey from above. Images from the flycam help to locate the area faster, identify suspicious locations and support the commander in providing appropriate approaches.
Unfavorable weather and cut-off terrain are still major challenges. However, the task force maintained their spirit and took advantage of every minute to search. Logistics work is strictly organized. Food, drinking water and medical supplies were continuously transferred to the scene, ensuring the health of the rescue team during the high-intensity work.
The spirit of urgency and efforts of the army clearly demonstrates the motto "all for the people". Each search group is specifically assigned, combining humans, mechanical vehicles, flycams and pets.
The search situation in Hung Son commune continues to receive great attention from all levels, sectors and public opinion. Rescue work is still ongoing.
