Quang Binh relocates 38 households at risk of landslides

Quang Binh - 38 households with more than 140 people were evacuated from Cay Suong hill area due to the risk of landslides.

On November 5, the People's Committee of Quy Dat town (Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province) said that it had just organized the evacuation of 38 households with more than 140 people from the Cay Suong hill area to avoid landslides.

From 6am to 12pm on the same day, there was heavy to very heavy rain in Minh Hoa district.

Cay Suong hill area in residential group 8 (Quy Dat town) has very steep terrain, complex geology, the height from the natural ground of the houses to the top of the hill is about 65 - 70m.

This area has shown cracks and subsidence over the years.

The authorities have evacuated 38 households in the area to safety. Most of the people evacuated to the old Quy Hoa Commune People's Committee headquarters, some proactively went to their relatives' houses.

The locality has prepared logistics, ensured food, necessities for people, and proactively mobilized means and forces to respond in case of landslides.
