On October 23, the Quang Ngai Hydrometeorological Station said that the influence of the low pressure after storm No. 12, from October 24 to 25, Quang Ngai province will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall is forecast to reach 50 - 100 mm, in some places over 150 mm. Heavy rain is likely to last until the end of October 2025.

Heavy rain is forecast to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial parks, and at the same time pose a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, along with landslides on steep slopes.
Faced with complicated weather developments, localities in the province have implemented many response measures. Mr. Ung Dinh Hien - Chairman of Van Tuong Commune People's Committee - said that the commune has hired a vehicle to dredge 8 ditches in villages that often have localized flooding. The locality has also reviewed and made a list of households in low-lying areas, prone to flooding to proactively develop plans and determine locations for evacuation when safety is not guaranteed.
According to Mr. Hien, the commune has established 30 shock troops in 30 villages. The task of these groups is to organize and command forces and vehicles on site to participate in natural disaster prevention, control and overcoming. In addition, local authorities have increased propaganda for people to stay home, reserve food and necessities, and be ready to respond to unfavorable weather developments.
After prolonged heavy rains, some roads in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai have experienced local landslides. At km 49+600, Provincial Road 622B (through Tra Linh village, Tay Tra Bong commune), rocks and soil from high mountains overflowed, causing traffic jams. Local authorities have urgently handled the situation, temporarily cleared the route and put up warning signs to ensure the safety of people and vehicles.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan - Director of the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province - said that the department has arranged forces to inspect key traffic routes, requiring management units to prepare materials and means to promptly handle incidents, ensuring smooth traffic and safety of the project. At the same time, the industry coordinated with traffic infrastructure management units to review locations at risk of subsidence and landslides; arrange human resources to be on duty 24/7, to drain water quickly and avoid flooding in urban areas.
The Department of Industry and Trade has also implemented a plan to ensure the source of goods and stabilize the market during the rainy and stormy season. Mr. Vo Quoc Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - said that the department has instructed localities to develop plans to reserve essential goods such as food, foodstuffs, drinking water, petroleum, etc. and coordinate with large enterprises to increase reserve supply. The industry also closely monitors market developments, flexibly coordinates goods sources, prevents speculation and price increases during the rainy and stormy season.
According to information from GO Supermarket! Quang Ngai, the unit has prepared 5,500 boxes of instant noodles, 300 boxes of dry food, 5 tons of rice, 600 boxes of bottled water and about 20 tons of other essential goods, ready to supply isolated areas when necessary.
