On February 8, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade said that consumer demand during the Binh Ngo Tet 2026 holiday will increase by about 5–10% compared to the same period last year and increase by 10–20% compared to normal days. Especially at large supermarkets such as GO! Quang Ngai, purchasing power is expected to increase from 20–50%. However, with a large amount of goods stockpiled in people and businesses, the province affirms that there is little chance of supply shortages for essential food and foodstuffs.
To ensure price stabilization, Quang Ngai has mobilized 13 businesses to participate in the market stabilization program, including 6 supermarkets and 2 manufacturing enterprises. The total value of reserved goods reached more than 134.2 billion VND.
Key stabilization commodity groups include: rice, beef, poultry, eggs, vegetables, processed foods and more than 15,000 other consumer goods. Large distribution units such as Co.opmart Quang Ngai, Co.opmart Duc Pho, GO! Quang Ngai supermarket, WinMart... have all proactively sourced goods and organized many promotional programs to stimulate demand.
Regarding gasoline and oil, the supply system in the province is firmly ensured thanks to Binh Son Refinery and a network of 364 retail stores. There are 7 gasoline and oil distribution enterprises participating in reserves with an output of about 21, 316 m3 of gasoline and 22, 720 m3 of diesel oil. The Department of Industry and Trade has requested gasoline and oil traders to seriously implement regulations on circulation reserves, absolutely not to let supply disruptions occur.
Regarding the power system, the Department of Industry and Trade has directed operating management units to strengthen inspection and maintenance of equipment, committing to ensure safe and continuous power supply to serve people enjoying Spring and welcoming Tet.
Market inspection and control work is being drastically implemented to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. In January 2026 alone, the Provincial Market Management force inspected 50 cases, handled 47 violations, collected and remitted to the budget more than 403 million VND and destroyed goods worth more than 242 million VND.
In addition, the work of ensuring food safety and hygiene, fire and explosion prevention at markets, commercial centers and production facilities is also strengthened with propaganda and close supervision before, during and after Tet.
With careful preparation from goods sources, price stabilization plans to market management, Quang Ngai province is ready for a joyful, healthy and safe Binh Ngo Tet 2026.
