The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway has a total investment of more than VND 20,400 billion; the total length is more than 88 km, of which the section through Quang Ngai is more than 60.3 km long. The project started on January 1, 2023; completion time is in 2025. Over the past 2 years, Quang Ngai has actively carried out tasks related to the implementation of the construction of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway. However, the project is still facing problems with site clearance, waste dumps, and material mines.
According to the investor's report, the problematic locations according to the main route construction contractor's recommendation have so far been resolved for 11/16 locations, the remaining 5 locations are not yet completed. The total area of adjusted and supplemented land clearance deposits that have been handed over to date is more than 24 hectares. The compensation plan for about 4 hectares has been approved; the remaining 20 hectares have not been approved because the additional area is not in accordance with the district-level land use planning and problems related to specific land prices.

The total volume of land for filling materials according to the project's requirements is more than 10 million m3. Currently, the volume at the mines granted to contractors is more than 7.8 million m3, the expected volume to be purchased at commercial mines on the list of mines serving the expressway project is more than 1.1 million m3. The total volume of sand for common construction materials needed to serve the project is about 910,000 m3.
According to Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, the provincial leaders have directed departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to coordinate with investors to urgently resolve problems, create the best conditions for construction units, and ensure the progress of the project. Compensation organizations must strictly and fully implement their responsibilities according to regulations, focus and prioritize resources to speed up the implementation progress to ensure the progress of completing the approval of compensation plans as soon as possible.
Project Management Board 2 directs contractors to proactively contact local authorities at the commune level to promptly coordinate in mobilizing and propagating households whose land is recovered to agree on handing over the site to organize construction implementation within the time limit for completing procedures for approving compensation plans.
