The project to renovate and upgrade Da Bac bridge will be implemented in Yen Tu ward, Quang Ninh province.
Currently, National Highway 10 connecting Quang Ninh with Hai Phong has basically been invested synchronously. In which, the section passing through Hai Phong has completed renovation and upgrade since 2022, except for the scope of Da Bac bridge. Quang Ninh has also approved the investment policy and project to upgrade the approximately 5.5km long section, excluding Da Bac bridge.
According to Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Da Bac bridge currently only has 2 lanes, becoming an unsynchronized "bottleneck" on the entire National Highway 10. Therefore, early investment in renovation and upgrading of this bridge is necessary to meet the increasing traffic demand between the two localities.
The project will renovate and repair the current Da Bac bridge, and at the same time build a new parallel bridge on the left side of National Highway 10. The new bridge is about 520.2m long, 12m wide with a structure similar to the existing bridge. The approach road system at both ends of the bridge will also be expanded, synchronously connected with the existing National Highway 10 in both Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.
After completion, the project is expected to improve traffic capacity, strengthen inter-regional traffic connections, serve transportation needs between industrial parks, industrial clusters and people of the two localities. At the same time, the project also contributes to completing transport infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development in the region.
The project is expected to be implemented in the period 2026-2028.
Currently, there are 4 bridges connecting Quang Ninh province with Hai Phong, including: Bach Dang bridge on Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway, Da Bac bridge on National Highway 10; Ben Rung bridge connecting the old Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province with the old Thuy Nguyen city, Hai Phong; Lai Xuan bridge connecting the old Thuy Nguyen city, Hai Phong city with the old Dong Trieu city, Quang Ninh province.
