In Tien Yen commune, Ba Che commune and Mong Cai 2 ward, local authorities have issued warnings about the risk of flooding and landslides due to prolonged heavy rain.
Recommend people not to move through overflow bridges, underground overflows, deep flooded areas or fast-flowing water; limit travel in hilly, taluy, and stream areas during heavy rain.
Do not fish, gather along rivers and streams; proactively reinforce houses, be ready to move people and property to safe places when necessary.

According to the Northern Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, Quang Ninh has had rain, with heavy to very heavy rain in many places. Rainfall measured from 1 am on May 17 to dawn on May 18 in some areas such as: Bai Chay 266mm, Tien Yen 141mm, Binh Lieu 128mm, Ben Trieu 104mm, Quang Ha 100mm, Uong Bi 81.1mm.
At automatic rain measurement points, many places recorded rainfall over 200mm such as Hong Ha 320.8mm, Phinh Ho 223.2mm, Trang Vinh Lake 204.4mm, Khe Cat Lake 206mm, An Bien 200mm. Some other areas also had heavy rainfall such as Quang Duc 192.6mm, Ha Long 186.2mm, Quang Lam 172.6mm, Chuc Bai Son 159.8mm.
Forecast from early morning of May 18 to morning of May 20, due to the influence of high-altitude wind convergence, Quang Ninh will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is from 100-200mm, in some places over 250mm. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
