Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 5, Quang Tri province decided to implement a level 4 response plan for natural disaster risks, with a plan to evacuate over 67,000 households, equivalent to more than 245,000 people in coastal areas, vulnerable areas, areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and isolation.
On the evening of August 24, hundreds of workers in Phu Trach commune who are constructing at key projects were also asked to temporarily stop working and move to safe shelters. At evacuation points, the authorities arranged food, necessities and medicine to serve the people.
Along with the relocation, the province has prepared more than 79,000 boxes of instant noodles, 12,900 boxes of dry food, 500 tons of rice, thousands of bottles of drinking water and other essential foods and medicines.

The military force established 5 defense areas at key locations, both commanding and coordinating, and ensuring logistics and means in case of emergency situations.
In the evening of the same day, border guards in the north of the province evacuated dozens of households in the dangerous area. In Kim Phu commune, Ca Xeng Border Guard Station established 3 working groups, coordinating with the government to encourage the Ruc people to move to the On village cultural house to avoid the storm.
Lang Ho Border Guard Station also sent 13 households with 37 people in Mit Cat village, Kim Ngan commune to take shelter at the headquarters of the 79th National Defense Economic Group.
During the night, the Border Guard continued to coordinate with the authorities of the two border lines to evacuate people from unsafe areas, ready to respond when storm No. 5 directly affected the area.
