University may change admission combination, candidates from good to bad
On the evening of August 22, after the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced its admission scores, many candidates unexpectedly failed even though they had enough points to pass according to the initial calculation. The cause stems from the confusion in the enrollment plan announced on June 4, when the D66 combination was defined to include Literature, English and Economic and Legal Education.
However, on June 7, the school adjusted the D66 combination, replacing the Economic and Legal Education subject with the Civic Education subject. This change has caused many candidates to not grasp it in time, still using the Economic and Legal Education scores to register for admission. As a result, many students, even though they have met the benchmark score according to the old combination, are still eliminated.
In response to public reaction, the school admitted that there was a mistake and said it was coordinating with authorities to ensure the rights of candidates. The school also instructed candidates to register according to the D66 and X78 combinations to send information before 5:00 p.m. on August 26 for support in handling. See more...

Primary school accountants assigned to concurrently work in secondary schools without allowances
Readers sent questions to the Ministry of Finance's Portal, reflecting the case of being assigned to be the accounting manager at a primary school under an indefinite-term labor contract. On July 1, 2025, the People's Committee of the commune continued to assign additional positions as accounting managers of a secondary school but did not receive additional salaries or allowances, thereby questioning the legality and benefits.

The Ministry of Finance cited Clause 1, Article 18 of Decree 174/2016/ND-CP, stipulating that accounting units can arrange accountants to concurrently hold other jobs. However, current accounting law does not stipulate that one person is allowed to be a concurrent accountant for many different accounting units. See more...
