Quang Ninh warns people not to be subjective in the face of storm No. 11

Quang Ninh is maintaining on-duty, controlling ships and reminding people not to leave storm shelters without orders.

According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of storm No. 11, the sea area of Co To and Van Don specialties will have winds of level 6, gusting to level 8.

Coastal areas of Mong Cai 1, Mong Cai 2, Mong Cai 3, Hai Ninh, Quang Ha, Cai Chien, Duong Hoa, Dam Ha communes have winds of level 4-5, gusting to level 6-7.

The whole province has scattered rain, some places have moderate rain.

At 4:00 a.m. on October 6, the center of storm No. 11 was at about 22.0 degrees North latitude, 107.6 degrees East longitude, in the southern area of Guangxi province (China), with the strongest wind near the center of the storm at level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 10.

The storm is moving in a West-Northwest direction, at a speed of about 20 km/h.

In Tien Yen, from the night of October 5 to the early morning of October 6, there will be winds of level 3-4, sometimes level 5, gusting to level 6, light rain to moderate rain.

Tien Yen commune currently has a Tien Lang dike system of more than 4.8 km long, 3 m wide, poured concrete, and is capable of withstanding storm damage at level 6-8. The 2.3 km long concrete dike surface has been reinforced, with stone embankments outside; the remaining 2.5 km have not yet fallen.

The commune has prepared sacks and sand to cope when floodwaters come from upstream. spillway points such as Tien Yen, Long Thanh, Na Kieu are also ready with barriers to control, preventing people and vehicles from passing when floods come.

By 6:00 a.m. on October 6, in the old Mong Cai City area, the weather was only light rain and light wind. People's daily life and production activities are taking place normally.

However, before the post-storm circulation that could cause heavy rain, local Party committees, authorities and functional forces have advised people not to be subjective and closely monitor the rain situation, especially in border communes to take preventive measures.

Localities maintain forces on duty, strictly control vessels and boats, do not leave anchorage positions without orders; do not let people return to aquaculture rafts without ensuring safety; at the same time, arrange machinery and vehicles to be ready to respond and promptly overcome landslides on traffic routes.
