On August 9, according to PV's source, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province issued Decision No. 1304/QD-UBND approving the adjustment of the investment project to build the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway under the PPP form of phase 1, raising the total investment to 14,331.618 billion VND.
According to the newly issued decision, the project will adjust many important items to ensure technical safety, reduce environmental impact and improve investment efficiency.
The route will be adjusted to avoid sensitive areas such as the ancient banyan tree at Km16+557, the Ban Cao historical relic site, the Tham Luong lake area and the multi-military area.
In particular, the maximum vertical slope will be reduced from 6% to 5% on the section Km66+740 - Km70+900 to ensure traffic safety.
Regarding the intersection design, the project changes the IC04A intersection plan from underpass to overpass, adjusts the location of IC05 intersection to avoid small half-crossing curves and large slopes, and optimizes the IC06 intersection design to reduce costs and increase connectivity efficiency.
For bridge and tunnel works, the project will adjust the thickness of the asphalt concrete layer, the cross-section of the bridge and add 54 new bridges. tunnel No. 01 will be shortened from 220m to 200m and a transversal tunnel will be added to facilitate maintenance and operation.
Regarding infrastructure for exploitation, the project will adjust the location of toll stations and add a traffic control center (TMC) and a tunnel operation area to improve traffic safety.
The project has a total length of about 93.35km passing through the communes of Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, with a total land use area of 825.91ha. The implemented capital includes VND 4,531.618 billion from investors (accounting for 31.62%) and VND 9,800 billion from the state budget (accounting for 68.38%).
In Decision 1304, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province assigned the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to preside over the implementation, and at the same time requested relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate in monitoring the project implementation process.
When completed, this expressway will contribute to promoting socio-economic development, connecting traffic between Cao Bang and Hanoi provinces as well as the vibrant economic growth poles of the country.
