According to the plan, the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway Project Phase 1 will be technically opened to traffic in 2025.
The entire route has basically completed site clearance according to technical design documents, in which, Cao Bang province has 362.34/367.5 hectares, reaching over 98%; Lang Son province has 448.63/458.41 hectares, reaching over 97%; some resettlement areas have been completed, creating conditions for people to soon stabilize their lives.

Currently, the project is actively implementing procedures to invest, build rest stops, traffic control centers, and complete phase 2 documents.
However, site clearance in Quang Hoa district (Cao Bang) and Van Lang and Trang Dinh districts (Lang Son) has not yet completed the resettlement area project (though in Quang Hoa, people have committed to relocation, but have not yet relocated); some households have demolished their houses and constructions on the land, but have not yet handed over the site.
The work of establishing and approving technical designs has led to adjustments to some sections of the route, leading to changes in the adjustment of the site clearance boundary...

On the other hand, recently, the high price of some construction materials has also caused difficulties in construction. However, the entire political system of Cao Bang province is taking action to promote the project's progress.
Recently, Secretary of the Quang Provincial Party Committee Minh Cuong chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway Project with the participation of leading units and project investors.
At the meeting, August 19 was chosen as the start date for phase 2 of the project and 2 expressway connections to Ta Lung border gate and Cao Bang city.
On June 14, speaking with reporters, a leader of the Cao Bang Provincial People's Council said that on June 19, the People's Council will meet to approve this issue.
In addition to the early start of the second phase of the project, Cao Bang province and the investor also agreed on the location and scale of some rest stops. Station No. 3 is located in Thach An district with a scale of about 5 hectares (the total area of the station is about 10 hectares).

The cluster of rest stop No. 4 in Trung Khanh district, with a scale of 10 hectares or more according to the progress of the implementation of the functional areas: rest stops, commercial services at border gates, golf courses, resorts...
In particular, the Road Project connecting Lung Luong intersection, Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway to Ta Lung Border Gate with a length of about 21.70 km is also being carefully calculated.

Regarding some problems in site clearance, the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee is requiring localities to completely complete the problems and problems of site clearance and hand over to project enterprises in June 2025 to ensure construction progress.
