The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway project is invested by Project Management Board 7 and has been put into operation since May 2023. Previously, this unit received an official dispatch from the Vietnam Road Administration on overcoming the shortcomings, inadequacies, and damages on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway that are under warranty.
According to this document, during the exploitation and use process, the route section has caused some damage and inadequacies, posing a potential risk of traffic safety and safety of works, such as damaged and cracked road surfaces and bridges; cracked and eroded sidewalks and slopes; worn and blurred road paint lines, etc.
The repair and repair work has not been timely, the risk of further damage when the rainy and stormy season comes is very high. The Vietnam Road Administration requested Project Management Board 7 to inspect and direct relevant units to urgently repair the damages and inadequacies on the route, ensuring completion before June 20, 2025 and taking full responsibility when there are traffic accidents or construction incidents caused by slow repair and repair.
According to Mr. Pham Quoc Huy, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway has been in use for about 2 years now, due to weather or rain, it has more or less affected the project. In addition to the damaged road surfaces previously discovered and handled, in recent times, there have been continued to be peeling road surfaces in some locations. Contractors will repair it until June 20, 2025 and meet standards to ensure safety.
The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is 100.8 km long, passing through Binh Thuan province, starting construction in September 2020 with a total investment of VND 11,500 billion. This expressway was put into operation and exploitation of the main route from May 19, 2023, inaugurated on June 18, 2023. Currently, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway has not yet collected road tolls and is constructing a rest stop at km205. The remaining rest stops are urgently carrying out site clearance procedures.
