From May 29 to 31, Yen Chau Commune People's Committee organized the 2026 Mango Festival with many cultural, sports, and attractive experience activities to promote the specialty mango brand and promote local tourism development.

Yen Chau is a key mango growing area of Son La with more than 700 hectares, production in 2026 is estimated to reach nearly 5,000 tons, worth about 55 billion VND.
Thanks to the application of science and technology and expanding the consumption market, the Yen Chau mango brand is increasingly affirming its position in the domestic and export markets.

Mr. Doan Xuan Ngoc, Chairman of Yen Chau Commune People's Committee, said that the Mango Festival is an opportunity to promote the Yen Chau mango brand, introduce agricultural and tourism potentials and expand agricultural product consumption opportunities for people in the commune.
The highlight of the festival is the mango picking competition with the participation of teams from villages and sub-areas in the area. Amidst the cheers of the audience, the contestants quickly escalated, selected ripe mangoes that met the standards and harvested according to the correct techniques.

The competition not only created a lively atmosphere but also vividly recreated the daily work of mango farmers, contributing to honoring the value of labor and farming experience accumulated through many generations.

Participating in the festival for the first time, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Diep, a tourist from Lang Son, shared: "I really like the mango picking competition because it is both fun and helps tourists understand more about the process of caring for and harvesting the famous fruit of Yen Chau. The festival atmosphere is very close and imbued with local identity.

In addition, there are also cultural and artistic competitions, bamboo dances, design and costume performances on agricultural themes, and agricultural product displays. Within the framework of the festival, Yen Chau commune also organized a ceremony to start exporting the first 30 tons of mangoes of the 2026 crop year to the Korean market.

Yen Chau Mango Festival 2026 contributes to promoting local specialties, honoring mango growers and bringing the image of Yen Chau land closer to domestic and foreign tourists.
