On the afternoon of February 20, the leader of Dien Lam commune, Dien Khanh district (Khanh Hoa) confirmed that a drowning accident had just occurred in the area, killing a woman.
Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on February 20, Ms. Le Thi Kim Huu (49 years old, residing in Dien Lam commune) and Ms. Dang Thi Kim Trang (39 years old, residing in Khanh Xuan village, Dien Lam commune) and Luong Thi Huyen (45 years old, from Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai) went to Da Mai lake, in Khanh Xuan village, Dien Lam commune to catch snails.
At 11am, all 3 were on their way from the lake to shore when they suddenly fell into a deep water hole.
At this time, all 3 tried to call for help, but only Ms. Kim Huu escaped and crawled into the dry water to call for help.
Mr. Truong Van Trung - a resident of Khanh Xuan commune - was picking lemons near the lake when he heard the cry for help, so he ran over and rescued the two victims. The victim Huyen was sunk deep into the hole.
After receiving the report, the authorities of Dien Lam commune were present at the scene. After organizing the search, in the afternoon of the same day, the authorities found the victim's body and handed it over to the family.
