On the evening of May 16, Hoa My Commune People's Committee, Dak Lak province said that the locality is mobilizing forces to search for victims in the drowning incident that occurred in the area.
According to initial information, at about 9 am on the same day, 4 students including N.A. H (9 years old), N.G. B (11 years old), N.B. P (11 years old) and N.N.B (14 years old, all residing in Nui La hamlet, Ngoc Lam 1 village, Hoa My commune), currently studying at Hoa My Tay Primary School and Tay Son Secondary School, invited each other to swim at Banh Lai River, the section passing through Ngoc Lam 1 village.
While swimming, all 4 students were unfortunately swept away from the shore by the water, leading to missing their legs and drowning.
By more than 7 pm on the same day, functional forces and people had found the bodies of 3 students. The remaining one is still missing, actively searched by functional forces.
Immediately after receiving the news, local authorities, police, rescue forces and people quickly arrived at the scene to deploy search operations for the victims.
