Hanoi is drafting a Resolution proposing policies to encourage people to use mass public transport in the city. The proposal includes free services for people with meritorious services, people with disabilities, the elderly, children under 6 years old, students, workers in industrial parks in the city; free services on holidays, Tet, special occasions of the country, of Hanoi City.
This information quickly received attention and consensus from students - people who regularly use buses and trains to serve their daily travel needs.
Regularly going to school by train, Pham Thi Khanh Linh (student of Law University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) believes that free public transport tickets will help reduce the financial burden for groups with limited incomes.
I choose the tram to go to school because it both avoids traffic jams and saves money. As a student, I always prioritize vehicles that suit my travel needs and budget. In my opinion, the toll exemption policy for students and workers is very practical because these are groups with low savings," Khanh Linh shared.

Sharing the same view, Dao Mai Anh (student at Vietnam National University, Hanoi) assessed that this policy brings great convenience to young people, especially when travel demand is high but financial capacity is still limited.
Due to the large travel demand, if I don't buy monthly bus tickets, I will have to spend a significant amount on daily individual tickets. If the proposal to exempt bus and train tickets for students is approved, I am very excited because it will save a significant amount of money," Mai Anh confided.

Not only having the meaning of supporting social security, this policy is also expected to contribute to changing the travel habits of people in the Capital, encouraging the use of public transport instead of personal vehicles. From there, reducing traffic pressure and environmental pollution.
Expressing enthusiastic support, Bui Dieu Huong (student of Foreign Language High School for the Gifted), hopes that this policy will soon become a reality to create motivation to change people's travel habits.
In the current context of environmental pollution, I think promoting the use of buses and trains is very necessary. Free tickets not only support people in difficult circumstances to travel more conveniently but also directly contribute to reducing emissions into the environment," Dieu Huong said.
Similarly, Nguyen Duc Hoang (student at Vietnam National University, Hanoi) believes that no longer having to worry about ticket prices will help many people be more excited about buses and trains.
I believe that when students and workers in industrial parks are prioritized for free tickets, the flow of people using these types of transport will increase sharply. Thereby, forming a more sustainable lifestyle and protecting the environment more effectively," Duc Hoang said.

With the benefits of economy, environment and urban transportation, many students expect the draft to be soon completed, approved and put into practice, opening up more convenient and economical travel opportunities for the people of the Capital.
In addition to exempting bus and train tickets, in the draft Resolution, the Hanoi Department of Construction also proposed a number of policies to support the conversion of green vehicles such as: Direct cash support for motorbikes and mopeds; support for fees for issuing registration certificates and license plates for green vehicles.
