On June 30, according to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), ACV officially received operating registration at Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport) from domestic airlines including: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Vietravel Airlines.
Accordingly, ACV has worked with Vietravel Airlines on commercial operation plans at Long Thanh airport from the end of 2026 and increased operating frequency from the summer flight schedule in 2027.

In addition, ACV is also working with Vietjet Air and Vietnam Airlines on operating plans at Long Thanh airport. Accordingly, Vietjet Air is committed to maintaining the operation of at least 2 international routes at Long Thanh airport in phase 1, Vietnam Airlines proposes to convert some international routes from Tan Son Nhat to Long Thanh, with a proportion of about 12% of the airline's international flights.
ACV also exchanged views on the layout plan to serve Vietnam Airlines and VIAGS, including check-in counter areas, kiosks, luggage self-delivery areas, departure gates, luggage conveyor belts, Premium Check-in Lounge, CIP Lounge international and CIP domestic.
For the trial operation phase before putting it into commercial operation, ACV also requested Vietnam Airlines to coordinate to support the aircraft to serve the trial operation work.
For foreign airlines, Long Thanh International Airport and the Project Management Board of Long Thanh International Airport have coordinated to welcome and work with representatives of SGN AOC - Association of airlines operating at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, International Air Transport Association (IATA), and representatives of 34 international airlines such as Korean Air, All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines to discuss and prepare plans to operate Long Thanh airport according to the plan.

Currently, ACV has established Long Thanh International Airport Branch, Long Thanh Aviation Fuel Branch and Long Thanh Aviation Goods Branch to perform the function of managing, operating, and exploiting essential works under Component Project 3.
Branches are actively implementing personnel recruitment work, expected to be completed in July 2026 to ensure the ability to take over, operate and operate synchronously when Long Thanh International Airport enters the operating phase.
In parallel with the organizational structure, ACV has signed a consulting contract with the Incheon Airport consortium to support the development of an operation and exploitation plan for Long Thanh airport. Up to now, the contents on operation, core processes, trade policies, business plans and financial strategies have been completed.
ACV is continuing to implement the content of operational testing and exploitation transfer, with a plan to organize 3 test phases expected in September, October and November 2026.
According to the plan, Long Thanh airport will be commercially operated at the end of 2026.
