According to forecasts, transport pressure during the 6-day holiday (from August 28 to September 9) at the airport is very high. Each day, the port serves an average of 130,000 passengers and 780 take-off and landing flights, an increase of 16% and 12% respectively compared to the same period last year. Especially on today (August 28) and the last day of the holiday (September 2), the number of passengers will reach a peak of 135,000 with more than 800 flights per day. This number exceeds the average of the recent summer peak period of 126,378 passengers/day.

To thoroughly solve the congestion problem, the airport has officially activated a breakthrough infrastructure diversion plan: opening a direct passage from international terminal T2 to domestic terminal T1.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hoang Hong Chuyen, Head of Tan Son Nhat Border Gate Police, affirmed that this traffic clearance helps people and vehicles quickly escape to main roads such as Truong Son and Pham Van Dong. All traffic conflicts at the traffic light intersection right next to the T2 station toll station, the "bottleneck" that often causes congestion during peak hours, will be reduced. Recorded this morning, the flow of vehicles passing through this area maintained smoothness and order, without localized congestion.

In parallel with clearing infrastructure, this campaign focuses all efforts on eliminating "illegal buses", soliciting passengers and ensuring absolute security. Inter-sectoral patrol teams continuously sweep along the passenger pick-up and drop-off area in front of the station, strictly handling cases of taxis and technology vehicles arbitrarily raising fares or forcing passengers to pay surcharges against regulations.

In particular, in terms of national defense and security, functional forces are closely coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Police and professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security to strictly control unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hoang Hong Chuyen said that the unit uses professional technical measures to detect and prevent remotely unmanned aerial vehicles that pose a risk to flight safety. The airport also coordinates with local authorities to tighten management of kite flying, burning garbage causing smoke or shining high-power laser lights around the take-off and landing areas.

To ensure smooth travel during the holidays, Tan Son Nhat International Airport recommends that passengers be proactively present 2 to 3 hours before departure; prioritize online check-in procedures via phone or terminal kiosk; prepare metal and electronic equipment on trays before passing security scanners; affix name and phone number labels to luggage to avoid picking up mistakes; and prioritize traveling by public transport, limiting relatives seeing off to reduce the load on the parking area.
