On March 14, the Central Party Office issued Document No. 13800-CV/VPTW announcing the Secretariat's review and disciplinary action against party members.
Accordingly, on March 14, at the Central Party Headquarters, the Secretariat reviewed and disciplined party members who violated and had shortcomings. After reviewing the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee, the Secretariat found that:
Mr. Hoang Van Thang - Deputy Party Cell Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Dams and Water Resources Development; former member of the Party Committee, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Mr. Nguyen Thanh rum - former member of the City Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City have degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity.
These individuals violated the regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, great damage to the state budget, public outrage, and greatly affected the reputation of the Party organization and the agency or work unit.
Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violation; according to the Party's regulations on disciplining violating Party members, the Secretariat decided to take disciplinary action by expelling Mr. Hoang Van Thang and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Rum from the Party.
On January 9, information from the Ministry of Public Security, the Investigation Police Agency initiated a case of accepting bribes, violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hoang Dan Company and related units and localities.
At the same time, the Investigation Police Agency prosecuted 12 defendants, including former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang, for accepting bribes.
