The voyage to bring faith to remote islands
In Khanh Hoa province, the atmosphere of preparation for election day is not only bustling in the central wards of Nha Trang city but also spreading to the submerged and floating islands of Truong Sa island district.
Mr. Ta Hong Quang - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nha Trang ward - said that the locality currently has about 110,000 eligible voters. The ward has developed a detailed plan to organize voter contacts, creating conditions for candidates to campaign for civilized and lawful elections.
However, preparation work also faces many challenges. In Nam Nha Trang ward, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Chairman of the Ward People's Committee - shared about the obstacles in reviewing voter lists due to unsynchronized data, as well as the lack of common living locations in some residential groups to arrange polling stations.
Inspecting the reality here, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh especially noted: "At the polling stations, it is necessary to show solemnity, prepare full flags and flowers like a national festival so that people can clearly feel that this is their sacred right and responsibility". He requested units to put themselves in the position of voters to arrange the list of candidates most scientifically and easily observed.
In the Truong Sa special zone, Brigade 146 and Naval Region 4 carried out a 2-day 2-night sea voyage to bring ballot boxes from the mainland to the islands. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lo - a resident of Song Tu Tay island - emotionally shared: "I have prepared traditional ao dai and red flags with yellow stars to solemnly exercise the right to vote". This careful preparation affirms that sovereignty and citizens' rights are not separate between the mainland and the sea and islands.
Ensuring structure, preparing for early elections
In Ca Mau province, election work is implemented with strict procedures and optimal deputy structure.
According to the Department of Home Affairs of Ca Mau province, the list of candidates was approved with very high professional qualifications: National Assembly deputies elected 13 deputies at 5 electoral units (from 23 candidates). Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi drastically directed: "Subcommittees serving the election must closely follow their tasks, not be passive or surprised; thoroughly resolve complaints and denunciations and strengthen the prevention of voting for others". In Hung Hoi commune - where there are many Khmer people, people's trust is clearly shown through the fact that candidates achieved a 100% approval rating at 12 voter conferences.
Public transparency, raising responsibility
In Vinh Long, the focus of this period is to publicly list candidates for people to study and choose.
The Provincial Election Commission has announced the list of 30 candidates for the 16th National Assembly (to elect 18 deputies) and 139 candidates for the Provincial People's Council (to elect 85 deputies). This list is posted at the People's Committee headquarters and community activity points for voters to easily learn about biographies and action programs.
Voter Nguyen Van Long (Long Ho commune) expressed his expectation: "We want to select truly typical delegates who are dedicated and responsible to the people. Each ballot must be carefully considered, because that is the trust placed for common development.
Meanwhile, voter Tran Quoc Thai (Long Chau Ward) affirmed that public posting is not only an administrative procedure but also a respect for the people's right to mastery. He believes that delegates who are "close to the people, understand the people" will help policies on transport infrastructure and agriculture become closer to reality.
Synchronous preparation of facilities, transparency in candidate dossiers and consensus of voters are guarantees for the success of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term. This is truly a festival for each citizen to continue writing a new chapter for the sustainable development of the nation.
