This morning (July 1), Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously started construction of 8 key projects with a total investment of more than 252,000 billion VND, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city honorably named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2026).
Can Gio - Vung Tau sea crossing
The most prominent is the Can Gio - Vung Tau sea-crossing road project with a preliminary total investment of more than 93,000 billion VND under the BT (build - transfer) contract.
The route is about 14 km long, including nearly 1.9 km of access roads, more than 8 km of sea bridges and more than 3.8 km of sea tunnels.
The entire route is designed with a scale of 6 motorized lanes, expected to be completed in 2029.


The project helps shorten the time from Can Gio to Vung Tau to about 10 minutes instead of 90 - 120 minutes; at the same time, promoting the development of marine economy, logistics and ecotourism.
Ho Tram - Long Thanh Expressway
The Ho Tram - Long Thanh International Airport urban expressway project is about 42 km long, with a total investment of about 46,918 billion VND under the BT contract.
According to the design, the main route has a scale of 6 lanes, with a design speed of 100 km/h.
At sections passing through residential areas and urban development areas, parallel roads will be built on both sides, 2 lanes on each side, design speed of 60 km/h.

The section passing through Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu forest will be built with a 32m wide viaduct to minimize the impact on the natural ecosystem.
The project is expected to be completed in 2029.
Ben Nha Rong Cultural Park - Khanh Hoi
One of the large-scale urban embellishment projects is Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Bach Dang wharf public greenery, with a preliminary total investment of more than 29,317 billion VND under the BT contract.
The project will underground a part of Ton Duc Thang street to build an underground parking lot and commercial center, while expanding the riverbank, adding green space, upgrading wharves and improving the landscape of Bach Dang wharf area.

The Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Wharf area will be developed into a riverside cultural park associated with preserving historical values.
The project also includes restoring the Amiral Latouche Tréville train model, expanding Nguyen Tat Thanh street to 8-10 lanes, building a Hoang Dieu intersection underpass, building a new Tan Thuan 1 bridge, expanding Tan Thuan 2 bridge,...
The entire project is expected to be completed in 2029.
HCMC - Moc Bai expressway
The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway is about 51 km long, of which the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 24.7 km long and the section through Tay Ninh is 26.3 km long.
Phase 1 is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, design speed of 120 km/h.

The project is divided into 4 component projects with a total investment of about 22,975 billion VND, including the construction of the expressway under the BOT contract; service roads, overpasses and compensation and site clearance work using budget capital.
According to the plan, the entire project will be completed in December 2027.
Cai Mep Ha General and Container Port
The Cai Mep Ha general port and container project has a scale of more than 351 hectares, with a total investment of about 50,200 billion VND.
The entire port has a wharf length of more than 6.8 km, a designed capacity of 11 million TEUs per year and is capable of receiving container ships of 24,000 TEUs.

In phase 1, the project invests about 14,867 billion VND to build 2 900 m long wharves, 9 barges and infrastructure systems on an area of more than 113 hectares, reaching a capacity of about 2 million TEUs per year.
Binh Tien Bridge and Road
The Binh Tien bridge and road project has a total investment of nearly 6,300 billion VND from the budget.
The project includes an elevated bridge about 3.1 km long with a scale of 4 - 6 lanes and a parallel road more than 3.3 km long.

The route starts from Pham Van Chi street, crosses the Tau Hu canal, passes through Phu Dinh area, crosses the Doi canal, crosses Nguyen Van Linh street and connects to the National Highway 50 connecting route.
The project is expected to be completed in 2028, contributing to reducing traffic pressure in the South of Ho Chi Minh City.
Rung Sac - Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway intersection
The Rung Sac road intersection project with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway has a total capital of nearly 2,970 billion VND from the budget.

The intersection is designed in a diamond shape, including a system of overpasses, underpasses, roundabouts, parallel roads and connecting branches.
The project is expected to be completed in 2028.
Intersection of National Highway 50 - Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway
The final project is the intersection between National Highway 50 and Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway with a total capital of nearly 600 billion VND from the budget.

The project is designed in the form of a trumpet with branches connecting the two routes, with a total length of about 1.3 km. According to the plan, the project will be completed in 2027.
