The Ministry of Construction has just approved toll rates for 13 sections of the North-South Expressway in the East invested by the State. This is the basis for deploying toll collection on these expressways in the near future.
According to the decision of the Ministry of Construction, the toll rate is applied to vehicles traveling on sections of the North-South Expressway Construction Project in the East phase 2021 - 2025, including: Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Vung Ang - Bung, Bung - Van Ninh, Van Ninh - Cam Lo, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, Chi Thanh - Van Phong, Van Phong - Nha Trang, Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau.
The Ministry of Construction assigns the Vietnam Road Administration to publicly disclose the collection level, collection method, subjects of fee payment, cases of exemption and reduction, and organize fee collection in accordance with the law on fees and charges.
Previously, the Vietnam Road Administration submitted to the Ministry of Construction for approval the toll level for using the expressway for the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route and sections of the North-South Expressway Project in the East phase 2021 - 2025.
According to the proposed plan, the expressway usage fee is on 13 sections of the route according to each route and vehicle group. The fee is calculated based on the actual travel distance of vehicles and collected entirely in the form of non-stop electronic toll collection (ETC).
Among the approved routes, the Van Phong - Nha Trang route has the highest maximum toll. With a length of 83.35km, the toll for group 1 vehicles is 32,625 VND/trip, while group 5 vehicles have to pay 130,500 VND/trip.
Some other routes with notable fees include: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, 30,492km long, maximum fee from 13,774 - 55,094 VND; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang is 58,415km long, fees range from 23,136 - 100,544 VND; Vung Ang - Bung is 57,339km long, fees range from 27,063 - 108,252 VND.
For the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route, 11.472km long, the maximum toll for group 1 vehicles is 9,750 VND and for group 5 vehicles is 39,000 VND.
The remaining expressways such as Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh, Chi Thanh - Van Phong, Can Tho - Hau Giang and Hau Giang - Ca Mau are also applied corresponding tolls according to the length of the route and vehicle group.
