On June 6, according to information from Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), it is expected that around 6 pm today, all branches of Long Thanh intersection will be officially put into operation.
This is the intersection between two expressways: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau.
Previously, from May 18, the entire main route of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway was put into operation, but the Long Thanh intersection was only partially exploited with 2 main branches including: the direction from Ho Chi Minh City along branch 2 of route T2 joining the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway towards Vung Tau and the opposite direction through branch N7 and branch No. 1 of route T2 to Long Thanh or back to the center of Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, the exploitation plan only applies to cars under 9 seats circulating, with a maximum speed of 80km/h and a minimum of 60km/h.
Regarding toll collection, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) is completing the adjustment of the toll collection system on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to be consistent with the temporary exploitation plan at the Long Thanh intersection.
Accordingly, vehicles without input information will have a toll transaction created at the output lane. For vehicles with input data but after a certain period of time they do not record output, the system will charge a fee corresponding to the exit point at Long Thanh intersection. The fee for cars with fewer than 9 seats going up and down at Long Thanh intersection ranges from about 45,000 VND to 66,000 VND.
Putting the entire intersection into operation is considered an important step in connecting the 2 expressways, helping vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai city and neighboring localities move more conveniently when traveling in directions to Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City center and Dong Nai city center.
According to the plan, the remaining branches of Long Thanh intersection will be put into operation including: branch 3, connecting vehicles from Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in the direction of Bien Hoa to Vung Tau to enter Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to continue to Dau Giay; branch 12, serving vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City to Dau Giay turning into Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to turn around in the direction of Bien Hoa; branch 4, connecting the flow of vehicles from Dau Giay to Ho Chi Minh City down to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to go to Bien Hoa; branch 1, from Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway to enter Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway to go to National Highway 51 or back to Ho Chi Minh City; branch 6, serving vehicles from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway turning down to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway in the direction of Vung Tau; branch N1.1 is the branch connecting branch N1 and branch T2 to go to National
