Pursuant to Resolution No. 1232/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment and arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period of Hai Phong City, from January 1, 2025, An Duong district was officially established. An Duong district has a natural area of 78.96 km2 and a population of 171,227 people after adjusting the natural area and population of 3 communes An Hong, An Hung, Dai Ban to Hong Bang district.
After being established, An Duong District has 10 wards including: An Dong, An Hoa, An Hai, Hong Phong, Le Loi, Le Thien, Tan Tien, Nam Son, Hong Thai, Dong Thai.
To implement the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee, on December 12, the District People's Committee requested departments, offices, units, localities, public offices, and schools to review and change agency nameplates and addresses according to administrative units. At the same time, strengthen propaganda to agencies, businesses, and people to change information on agency nameplates and address plates according to administrative units of wards and districts, to be completed before December 30, 2024.
For localities merging and establishing new wards, units proactively receive and hand over documents, facilities, public assets, etc. from the merged commune administrative units for management; arrange working plans, receive citizens and resolve administrative procedures for citizen organizations at the new ward headquarters from January 1, 2025. An Hai ward has its office at the old Dang Cuong commune headquarters; Nam Son ward has its office at the old Nam Son commune; Le Loi ward has its office at the old An Duong town.
The District People's Committee assigns departments, offices and units based on their functions and tasks to proactively coordinate and guide localities to receive and handle administrative procedures according to the new administrative unit; promptly handle arising tasks, and report to the District People's Committee on matters beyond their authority. At the same time, coordinate propaganda so that people, businesses, organizations and individuals know and conduct transactions at the headquarters of newly established wards and proactively change information on agency name plates and address plates according to the administrative units of wards and districts.
