According to the report of Hai Phong City People's Committee, in 2024, the progress of implementing social housing projects will be directed drastically, meeting the housing needs of people, especially low-income people.
Hai Phong City currently has 31 social housing projects with a total scale of about 36,600 units. 9 social housing projects have started construction with a total of more than 15,000 apartments, ensuring progress so far. Of which, 5 social housing projects have products eligible for sale on the market with a total of 2,755 units and 1 worker housing project with 300 units put into operation and use.
16 projects have selected investors and are completing procedures to start construction with a scale of about 18,900 units; 6 projects have investment policies and are selecting investors with a scale of about 2,700 units. It is expected that in 2024, about 4,000 social housing units will have completed the rough construction and continue to start construction of at least 4 social housing projects with more than 5,800 units.
According to the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030" in Decision No. 338/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, Hai Phong is assigned the target of completing 33,500 social housing units from now to 2030, of which 15,400 units will be completed in the period of 2021 - 2025; 18,100 units will be completed in the period of 2026 - 2030.
