Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha has just signed and issued a plan on implementing the School Health Program in the city in the period 2026 - 2035.
The program is implemented at preschool education, general education, continuing education, vocational education, higher education institutions and other educational institutions in the area.
The city will organize a review of the system of documents, regulations, and current guidelines on school health work, student health care, periodic health check-ups, school nutrition, food safety, clean water, school hygiene, mental health, disease prevention, accident and injury prevention and digital transformation in school health management.
Arrange and arrange specialized school medical personnel according to job positions, number of employees, norms and forms of human resource use as prescribed by law; prioritize large-scale educational institutions, preschool and primary education institutions, educational institutions that organize semi-boarding meals, educational institutions with many disabled students and educational institutions at high risk of epidemics, food safety, and injuries.
Prioritize investment, renovation, and upgrading of school hygiene conditions, classroom lighting, tables and chairs, clean water and drinking water systems, sanitation works, hand washing areas, playgrounds, training grounds, kitchen areas, dining halls, food storage warehouses and safe learning conditions.
Organize periodic health check-ups or screenings at least once a school year for learners according to regulations. For preschool education, strengthen monitoring of growth charts, nutritional status, motor development, language development, behavior, age psychology; coordinate with parents and medical facilities.
Strengthen the management of school meals in the direction of ensuring food safety, nutritional balance, suitable for age, health conditions, regions, eating culture and actual conditions of each educational institution. Strictly implement the process of selecting, signing, and supervising food suppliers, meals, ingredients, and drinking water; ensure traceability, three-step inspection, food sample storage, hygiene of processing areas, dining halls, storage warehouses, means of transportation and people directly involved in processing and serving meals.
Focus on communication about personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, proper nutrition, physical activity, disease prevention, mental health, accident and injury prevention, drowning prevention, prevention of harms of tobacco, e-cigarettes, alcohol, addictive substances, food safety, traffic safety, juvenile reproductive health and self-protection skills. Build and replicate models: "Schools improve health", "Friendly school health", "School meals ensure proper nutrition", "Ward, commune - school - family for the health of learners".
Building and completing electronic health records of learners; researching the application of digital technology, artificial intelligence and data analysis support tools. Digitizing health communication and education materials; building a learning resource, video, electronic leaflets, questionnaire sets, self-health care instructions, guiding parents to coordinate in taking care of children's health at home.
