Severe landslides, traffic paralyzed in mountainous commune of Tuyen Quang

Nguyễn Tùng |

Tuyen Quang - More than 300 m3 of landslides on DH.03 road have caused traffic congestion and paralysis between Tan Trinh and Thong Nguyen communes.

On the afternoon of August 11, speaking with reporters, Mr. Vu The Phuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thong Nguyen commune - said that currently, the local government has not been able to overcome the consequences of the landslide on DH.03. road.

"It is impossible to clear, the volume of landslides is very large. Before the landslide on July 10, we mobilized to fix it and only opened it to traffic on August 7.

However, after 2 days of opening to traffic, heavy rain occurred, and by the morning of August 11, landslides occurred again. The estimated volume of rock and soil is over 300 m3," said Mr. Phuong.

According to the commune leader, this is a vital route connecting Tan Trinh and Thong Nguyen communes. The landslide caused traffic disruption and paralysis because one side was a mountain, the other side was a hydroelectric lake.

After the landslide, the People's Committee of Thong Nguyen commune issued a document reporting to the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province to request support. It is known that the Department of Construction of Tuyen Quang province has planned to approach the scene of the landslide to have a plan to overcome and repair it.
