According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province, from July 5 to August 5, the whole province recorded 38,925 pigs with extravagance (accounting for about 2-3% of the total number of pigs in the province) in 3,414 households in 98 communes. The total weight of the destroyed pigs was 2,165.8 tons.
Tuyen Quang province also established a total of 23 temporary quarantine posts to conduct inspections and control the trade and transportation of pigs and pig products into and out of the area and spray disinfect all vehicles entering and leaving the epidemic area.
Currently, 4 administrative violations related to transporting and throwing pigs into the environment have been handled, with an amount of 24.25 million VND and all 12 pigs have been destroyed.
Commune and ward in Tuyen Quang province have established a Steering Committee for disease prevention and control at the commune level, assigning specific tasks to members who go directly to the facility to check and monitor the epidemic situation.
Localities have established a rapid response team to prevent African swine fever at the commune level to monitor and grasp the area, strengthen inspection work, strictly handle cases of buying, selling, and transporting pigs and pig products from epidemic areas.
To date, 6 communes in Tuyen Quang province including: Bac Quang, Nam Dan, Tri Phu, Binh Xa, Yen Lap and Yen Phu have not had any more outbreaks of African swine fever for 2 weeks.
