On the afternoon of July 17, at Km 26+760 of provincial road 159 from the center of the old Ban Pho commune to the center of the old Hoang Thu Pho commune (now Bac Ha commune), a landslide occurred on the embankment with a volume of about 5,000 m3 of rock and soil, causing traffic congestion in the area.
According to the assessment of local authorities and functional agencies, the landslide affected the travel of 591 households in 7 villages of the old Hoang Thu Pho commune.
Currently, the crack on the embankment continues to widen with a great risk of landslides.

Immediately after the landslide appeared, the People's Committee of Bac Ha commune coordinated with relevant agencies to mobilize local forces to urgently repair the road surface, ensuring that people could temporarily travel by motorbike.
At the same time, warning signs have been put up for landslides so that people and vehicles traveling through this section of the road can be vigilant and prevent possible landslides.
