On April 20, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi - Chairman of Cam Giang Commune People's Committee said that the landslide at Na Ca quarry occurred at about 11 pm on April 19.
At that time, about 200,000 - 250,000m3 of soil and rock, mostly large stone blocks from the top of the mountain slid down to the mining area below. Estimated damage is more than 8 billion VND.
The landslide did not cause any casualties. However, many equipment and machinery were buried and damaged.
Before the incident occurred, this area had prolonged heavy rain," Mr. Hoi said.
Also according to the Chairman of Cam Giang Commune People's Committee, after the landslide occurred, the local authorities were present at the scene to implement measures to overcome the consequences and limit risks.
Na Ca stone mine (Na Ca village) went into operation in 2001, and temporarily stopped in August 2025.
Currently, the enterprise is investing in and installing new machinery and equipment to prepare for production resumption.
