On September 16, the Civil Judgment Enforcement of Can Tho City (Civil Judgment Enforcement Management Department) issued Notice No. 163 on the compulsory seizure of assets against Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company, headquartered at No. 83 Ly Thai To, Hung Phu residential area, Hung Phu ward, Can Tho City (now Hung Phu ward, Can Tho City).

The seized assets are the MAILINH EXPRESS cruise ship, 40m long, more than 10m wide, with a total capacity of 3,220KW, built in 2019.
According to the announcement, the enforcement time will take place on September 23, 2025, at the ship mooring area, Factory X55 ( Logistics - Engineering Department, Navy). The estimated cost of enforcement is about 41.29 million VND, which the company must pay.
Previously, the Civil Judgment Enforcement agencies in Can Tho issued two other enforcement notices related to the MAILINH EXPRESS ship.
Specifically, on August 21, 2025, the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Area 2 - Can Tho issued Notice No. 74, setting the enforcement time for September 5, 2025 also in the above area. However, before the implementation time, the company had submitted a request for a temporary postponement, saying that the ship had expired, was no longer able to operate and was in the process of maintenance.
In addition, this ship also received funding from the Can Tho City Development Investment Fund, which is capital of the Can Tho City People's Committee. In case of an incident, the fund's capital could be affected by over VND31 billion.
Therefore, this company proposed to postpone the enforcement of the judgments until October 5, 2025 so that the company can negotiate with the investor and repay the judgments.

On June 12, 2025, the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Cai Rang District issued Notice No. 477, planning to enforce the ship on July 9, 2025. However, when the implementation time came, the ship was no longer anchored at the announced location.
According to the record on settling the enforcement of the judgment on July 9, 2025, because the ship's inspection period has expired since June 25, 2025, the company is required to re-inspect the ship to allow the ship to operate and conduct negotiations between the property buyer...
Mr. M.T - the person whose sentence was carried out, said that the relocation of the ship made the enforcement impossible to carry out as planned, affecting his rights.
Mr. M.T said that according to Notice No. 477, the enforcement was supposed to be carried out on July 9, 2025, but it has not been possible to do so yet. Therefore, Mr. M.T suggested that signs of violations in Article 380 of the 2015 Penal Code on the crime of non-compliance with judgments be considered, and at the same time requested the competent authorities to take measures to completely handle the case.
According to Judgment No. 60/2024/DS-ST, Mr. M.T (born in 1983, old Co Do District, Can Tho City) sued Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company for violating a loan contract.
This verdict clearly stated that due to acquaintances, Mr. M.T lent Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company 1 billion VND, from August 14, 2023 to December 31, 2023, at an interest rate of 12%/year.
However, Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company did not repay principal and interest as committed. After being sued, this unit paid Mr. M.T 200 million VND, divided into 3 installments.
The verdict also said that despite being summoned several times, there was still a lack of reason.
It is known that the MAI LINH EXPRESS ship has been operating the Can Tho City - Con Dao waterway passenger transport route since 2021. However, the ship has been suspended many times, then resumed operations in 2022, 2024 and has continued to be suspended until now.
On May 26, 2025, the legal representative of Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company, Mr. Dong Ngoc Danh, had a record of agreement to repay the debt with Mr. M.T (the person whose sentence was carried out) witnessed by Executive Director Nguyen Tung Huy.
According to the agreement, within 15 days, Mai Linh Tay Do Joint Stock Company will fully pay the debt of more than VND 892 million and an interest rate of 1.5%/month for the amount of late payment for enforcement.
