On the afternoon of June 15, the leader of the People's Committee of Gio Linh town, Gio Linh district (Quang Tri) confirmed that an unusually deep hole appeared in Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat's garden in Ha Thuong quarter, with a diameter of nearly 5m and an unknown depth.
Immediately after receiving the report from the people, the People's Committee of the town coordinated with the district's specialized agencies to the scene to inspect, and at the same time erected barriers and put up warning signs of danger around the area.
The People's Committee of the town also requested Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat's household to urgently evacuate people and property to a safe place, strictly prohibiting strangers from accessing the deep hole area out of curiosity, to avoid the risk of unsafe lives and property.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the scene to assess the cause and propose appropriate handling measures.
It is known that the deep hole was discovered by local residents on the same morning. Previously, there was heavy rain in Quang Tri province due to the impact of storm No. 1.
