On the morning of June 10, at the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong coordinated to organize a Scientific Workshop on the socio-economic development orientation of the new Lam Dong province in the period of 2026 - 2030 and the following years.
The workshop was attended by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committees of the three provinces; directors of departments and branches, along with scientists, intellectuals, and leading experts in the economic, scientific, and strategic fields of Vietnam; along with a number of large enterprises and investors interested in investing in the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong.
Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie K dam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee - emphasized: The workshop took place in a very special context, when the orientation of regional linkage and consolidation of the three provinces of Lam Dong - Dak Nong - Binh Thuan is being studied and discussed at the strategic level.
Accordingly, the new Lam Dong province is expected to be expanded to the largest scale in the country, opening up room and great development potential (with forests, seas, border gates, dry ports and seaports; becoming the capital of some types of industrial crops, fruit trees and bauxite and aluminum industries).

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Huyen - Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Institute of Economics - Society and Environment, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - the largest province in Vietnam needs to choose the first breakthrough in transportation and urban infrastructure to activate available space and resources.
In terms of institutions, because Lam Dong is a new province with a large area and characteristics, institutions also need to be specific to ensure development. Lam Dong New Year needs to prioritize upgrading National Highway 28, building a traffic route connecting Da Lat city (Lam Dong) with Dau Giay (Dong Nai) - Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan) expressway to ensure connectivity in development.
At the workshop, some experts said that Lam Dong has an important strategic position in terms of economy, politics, security, and defense. At the same time, the locality has many favorable conditions to develop renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, tourism, mineral exploitation, etc. Therefore, Lam Dong has all the conditions to develop green industry and a circular economy in a sustainable direction.
