On October 30, the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ngai province said it had called on businesses and distributors of essential goods in the province to join hands to support people in the mountainous commune of Ngoc Linh, which is currently facing many difficulties and shortages.
Enterprises and distributors of essential goods can support items such as: rice, instant noodles, dry food, canned foods, drinking water, cooking oil, salt, fish sauce, sugar, clothes, blankets, raincoats, flashlights, raincoats... to support people in Ngoc Linh commune.
Address for receiving support is facility 2 of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, No. 494 Tran Phu, Kon Tum Ward, Quang Ngai Province. The acceptance period is from October 28 to November 7, 2025.
The cooperation, support and help of benefactors will be practical, helping people in areas with severe natural disasters and landslides to overcome difficulties soon to stabilize their lives.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, due to prolonged heavy rain, on the night of October 28, a serious flash flood and landslide occurred, causing 5 villages of Ngoc Linh mountainous commune (Ngoc Nang, Mo Po, Xa Doa, Ngoc Lang and Tu Rang) to be completely isolated.
According to Mr. A Phuong - Secretary of the Ngoc Linh Commune Party Committee, the landslide lasted about 3 km, sweeping away many coffee, macadamia, rice fields, and people's livestock barns.
Currently, functional forces are actively opening temporary roads to access and support medicine and essential goods for people.
Along with other mountainous communes of Quang Ngai province such as Dak Plo and Dak Pet, Ngoc Linh commune is the locality that suffered the most damage during this flood, with many inter-commune roads, roads to production areas and residential areas eroded, damaged works and people's houses.
The People's Committee of Ngoc Linh commune proposed that Quang Ngai province consider announcing an emergency order to repair seriously damaged traffic works, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
