On October 28, Mr. A Phuong - Secretary of the Ngoc Linh Commune Party Committee said that the commune is making efforts to approach 5 isolated villages and prepare necessities, food, and medicine to provide when people need them.
"It is expected that this afternoon, commune officials will find a way to support people in 5 isolated villages with dozens of households. Due to the large-scale landslide, rocks and soil flowing more than 2km long, creating a deep hole that separated the traffic route by more than 200m, making it very difficult and dangerous to access and move through this area. While Ngoc Linh mountain is large, the slope is high, the rain continues, the risk of further landslides is very high," said Mr. A Phuong.
The commune government mobilizes people to implement the "4 on-site" motto, proactively ensuring safety in the immediate future, not moving to areas at risk of landslides; at the same time helping each other when encountering difficulties and disasters.

Ngoc Linh commune has also relocated some households living around the landslide area to safe places, while setting up ropes and warning signs to prevent people from traveling in dangerous areas.
At about 0:00 a.m. the same day, in Lang Moi village, people heard a terrible loud explosion coming from the mountain, about 4km northeast of the People's Committee of Ngoc Linh commune.
After the landslide, rocks, soil and floodwaters caused great damage to crops and cut off traffic routes to Ngoc Lang, Mo Po, Xa ua and Tu Rang villages.
Fortunately, the residential area was about 500m from the landslide site, so there were no human casualties. Currently, the flood situation in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai is still complicated.
